Youth Medical Association

The Youth Medical Association (YMA) at Washington High School is a student-led organization dedicated to fostering interest in healthcare and medicine among high school students. Our mission is to inspire and prepare the next generation of healthcare leaders through education, mentorship, and meaningful, hands-on engagement with medicine and public health.

As students in the Bay Area, we acknowledge the privilege and responsibility that come with access to education and opportunity, and we believe that even small, intentional actions rooted in empathy can create lasting impact. At its core, YMA is committed to centering human experiences—uplifting real voices, fostering awareness, and reminding our members that change does not require a title, only compassion, understanding, and the willingness to act.
